About Video - Korean Zucchini (Squash) Side Dish – HOBAK BOKKEUM 호박 볶음. Recipe by Always Yummy!
Korean zucchini is a mouth-watering appetizer or juicy side dish, rather spicy and aromatic. Be sure to cook this easy and yet unusual Korean dish, moreover it will take a little of your time.
✅ Ingredients:
• zucchini / squash – 1,1 lb | 500 g
• scallion – 3 tbsp | 15 g
• garlic – 2 cloves
• sesame oil – 2 tbsp
• roasted sesame seeds – 1,5 tbsp
• salt – 2 tbsp
• sugar – 1 tbsp
• ground black pepper – 1 tsp
• red hot pepper – 1 tbsp
• vegetable oil – 1 tbsp
✅ You will need:
• pan
• bowl
• carving board
📙Preparation:
1. Cut the zucchini into half rings, add 2 tbsp of salt and leave for 30 minutes.
2. Chop up the scallion and garlic.
3. Rinse the zucchini and squeeze lightly.
4. Heat a pan, add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil and lay out the zucchini.
5. Add the scallion, garlic, sugar, black and red peppers, sesame oil, stir and fry over medium heat for 3 minutes.
6. Add the sesame seeds and fry for 2 minutes more. The Korean-style zucchini is ready.
❗️Advices:
1. When frying add spices one by one – e.g. add sugar and stir, then pepper - stir. So spices are better melted in zucchini.
2. If you have big zucchini, then peel them and deseed.
