These are intended to be very authentic encounters that people can really connect with and learn from so in each session we ask poignant questions about African business, culture and devotion. It’s as simple as ABCD. Iwineti is the Amharic word for truth. The simple word “truth” indicates that these interviews must be authentic and really address concerns of the African people. Guests and audiences must be free to express their opinions with respect for others but without the need to be politically correct. The objective of the conversations is to drive positive change and development in Africa. OUR HISTORY 👣 Iwineti Africa was originally branded as the Truth Interviews. It was focused on conducting interviews for small business entrepreneurs and other impact makers who needed visibility and whose activities and achievements were aligned with the faith and philosophy of the convener. In the middle of 2021 after an interview with Pretty Kubyane and Shadrack Kubyane in succession, Shadrack suggested the platform be adopted to speak to more profound issues border on the development of Africa. Since the convener already had a vision to support small businesses in Africa, this idea was a welcome one. In January 2022, the convener was inspired to expand the vision of the Truth Interviews by rebranding to Iwineti Africa. Using a local language to describe the platform gave it an African feel. A dedicated YouTube channel was also launched to separate the platform from the convener’s other interests. Part of this evolution will include the conscription of volunteers from all over Africa to anchor conversations for specific countries in order to be more relevant and also expand the audience. OUR PHILOSOPHY 🎓 Iwineti Africa is built on the following tenets: 🩸 1. Africa has been operating below her potential for decades. Many parties have attempted to address the problem by attacking leadership, but Iwineti believes the leaders rise from the population thus the thinking of the population must be influenced. 🩸 2. To contribute to change in the African society, we must look for ways to promote change by showcasing great achievements of rising Africans, provoking thought among middle class population about the state of Africa and inspiring the audience to contribute to development. 🩸 3. Africa may not be able to compete with the advanced countries on all fronts but there are native capabilities within African that can be exploited to our advantage. We have something to offer the world.
