About Video - Traditional POTATO KUGEL with a Modern Twist. Recipe by Always Yummy! Kugel is considered a traditional Jewish dish the recipes of which had appeared many centuries ago in Germany. Kugel is a casserole or pie of round shape made as a rule of potato, noodles and vegetables. It is amazing that such an extremely tasty casserole with crispy crust and soft inside can be made of the simplest ingredients as potato, onion and eggs. The point is in the way of cooking and about it in our video recipe. ✅ Ingredients: • russet potato – 2,6 lb | 1,2 kg • onion – 5 oz | 150 g • 3 eggs • salt – 1 tsp • ground black pepper – ½ tsp • vegetable oil – 6 tbsp ✔︎ You will need: • baking dish - 10 in | 26 cm • oven • fine or coarse grater • colander • deep bowl ✔︎ We used: Colander Baking glass round dish 10 in | 26 cm 📙 Preparation: 1. Grate the potato coarsely and the onion - finely. Lay into the colander fixed on a deep bowl or stockpot. Spoon the vegetables to drain extra liquid. 2. Whisk the eggs, salt and ground black pepper until stiff and add the grated potato and onion, 2 tbsp of vegetable oil and mix well. 3. Brush the baking dish with 2 tbsp of vegetable oil and put the prepared stuff in it, smooth and cover evenly with 2 tbsp of vegetable oil. 4. Preheat oven to 350°F | 180°C and bake the potato kugel for 50 minutes. 5. Serve the kugel hot with sour cream, greens and vegetables.
