পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে ছড়িয়ে থাকা ছোট্ট ছোট্ট দ্বীপগুলো অপার সৌন্দর্যের পসরা নিয়ে পর্যটকদের আকর্ষণ করে। এমনই এক সুন্দর দ্বীপের কথা আজ আমরা জানবো। দ্বীপটির নাম মেক্সিক্যান ভাষায় “ইস্লা দ্যা লাস মিউনিকাস” বা “আইল্যান্ড অব দ্যা ডলস”।
মেক্সিকো সিটি থেকে ২৮ কি.মি. দূরে দক্ষিণে জোচিমিকো ক্যানালের মাঝেই এই দ্বীপটি উঁকি দিয়ে যায়। জোচিমিকো একটি কৃত্রিম দ্বীপ। অপার সৌন্দর্যে বেষ্টিত হলেও এই দ্বীপটি কিন্তু টুরিস্ট ভূমি হয়ে উঠতে পারেনি ঠিকমত। কারণ দ্বীপটি একদিকের যেমন নীলাভ বিস্তৃত জলরাশির জন্য খ্যাত তেমনি অপর দিকে এই দ্বীপকে ঘিরে রয়েছে ভয়ঙ্কর অদ্ভুত সব কাহিনী যা দ্বীপটির নামকরণকে দিয়েছে স্বার্থকতা। দ্বীপটির নামকরণের পিছনে রয়েছে রহস্যময় এক অতীত.........
