To make this zobo drink, gather the following ingredients:
1. 1 cup of zobo (dried hibiscus petals)
2. 1 tablespoon of cloves
3. 4 dates
4. Ginger
5. 375g Grapes fruits
6. Pineapple
7. 4 liters of water
Prepare the additional ingredients by peeling and slicing a thumb-sized piece of ginger, cutting 4 dates into small pieces, and chopping grapes and pineapple into bite-sized chunks.
Add the ginger, dates, grapes, and pineapple to the pot with the zobo and water mixture, and stir everything together. Place the pot on the stove over medium heat, bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes. This allows the flavors to infuse into the liquid.
After simmering, remove the pot from the heat and let the zobo drink cool to room temperature. Once cooled, strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the zobo petals, cloves, ginger, and fruit pieces. Transfer the strained liquid to a clean container.
For an extra refreshing touch, chill the Zobo drink in the refrigerator for a few hours. When ready to serve, pour the zobo drink over ice cubes in glasses and enjoy the unique blend of tartness, warmth from the cloves, and natural sweetness from the dates, grapes, and pineapple.
